Care for some Tea

« on: Jul 29, 2010, 09:09:40 pm »

I just ordered my new mad Hatter outfit it's a replica of the red one in my default picture which if you didn't know is the one Ruki of The Gazette E  wore in the Music Video for their song Cockroach. So tell me what is going on with your costumes or if your undecided with ideas are going through your head's.

I am attempting to go to the store so I can buy materials to make my cosplays.  I'm a re-sale junkie, so I get my fabrics and parts from used clothing.  I did finish my pink innocent lolita and I am trying to make a lacy parasol and headdress to go with it.  ^__^

I like to multitask... so I'll be wearing lots of costumes  my first pick is Shiki Misaki (sooo comfy to walk in)  2nd is innocent lolita, 3rd is nunnally, 4th is seychelles (hetalia)... if i get that done.  And if this maid cafe works out I'll be a maid of course ^__^

and Wow, ruki's mad hatter outfit is very elaborate.  It's so awesome though!  Are you a one cosplay person, or do you have several lined up too?

Sweet!  I'd love to see that!  Now, do you prefer wigs or do you dye & gel?  ^_-

I'm starting to draw out the the design for my costume, and since Halloween's coming up, I'll be able to find a little pumpkin and some stripy stockings. I'm going to cut my hair soon, and I'll be doing dye and gel...now, just to find a reference picture of Road Kamelot...

Just when I think a bent bobbin spring on my sewing machine is fixed, it breaks again. It was only then my mom admits that she bought me one of the cheaper, lesser quality sewing machines for my birthday that one year. At least I started on the skirt. Worst case is that I borrow my grandma's. Besides, I need fabric for the top part. My helmet and trident are complete.

Though I seriously think I'll make more armor-based costumes because I'm awesome at cardboard and paper mache and both of them are dirt cheap.

I'm not confident with my cardboard skills >_<  is your armor durable?  Does it last through a con?  I made belt buckles once out of model magic *shudders*  never again.  never. again.  too many tight crowds and the buckles (all 18 of them) were in pieces.  That's why I like to stick to fabric.

It's pretty durable. I use hot glue reinforced with duct tape and two layers of paper mache.

For my Ouka cosplay, I've been going through dozens of sites for a good wig and dozens of stores for a good [and affordable] furry fabric. Oh boy... Good thing I'm starting early Smiley

I got my socks for my Alice Liddel cosplay (I think they are actaully really close) and I bought my fabric for the dress and apron. I am still trying to find a under skirt that is just above the knees.

I have bought all the blue fabric for my Fang Sari... which I probably bought too much but oh wells. I have also bought some bangles, the boots I intend on using, and thankes to my brother I have the fur for her tails. I am trying to hold myself back from ordering my wig until after Christmas.

And Since I am making my friends Vanille costume, I have already bought some of the beads for that, her shoes which need to be altered, and the fur for her skirt, which I hand just chilling out from a cosplay I never got around to doing XD
